They are shelter cats drawn from Ventura County Animal Services. Surfcat Café and Adoptions has the privilege and honor of providing a safe and welcoming haven for some of these felines. While leaving Sola Salon in Ventura, volunteers Abi and Haven noticed something run by quickly and into the bushes nearby. As they approached, they heard a loud meow and that's when they saw a little tabby/tortie kitten. Our resident "whisperer" Haven was able to pick her up. Covered with fleas and a badly injured tail, little "Sola" was on her way to Surfcat to be cleaned up and evaluated. She was seen the next day by our partner vet Ohana Pet Hospital where she was cleared for spay and tail repair surgery. You would never know that this little girl had been through so much. Once at Surfcat she was purring and making muffins gazing into Haven's eyes clearly grateful as if to say thank you for saving me. Sola is ready to cuddle and play her way into your heart. Are you ready to meet the love of your life? Please fill out our adoption application by opening their link. https://surfcatcafe.org/adoption-application/
This beautiful sleek black boy came to Surfcat through no fault of his own. Born around August 2007 Felix is still out and about playing with toys and his Surfcat buddies. Felix is very well adjusted spending only a few hours on the introduction catio at Surfcat before making himself at home with the other residents. Felix enjoys gazing out the window and chattering at the birds as they fly by and wave hello. He loves playing with the teenage residents and you may find him grooming a kitten from time to time in the playground loft. Felix is neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, negative for FIV/FL and micro-chipped. He is available for meet 'n greets at the sanctuary as adoption events make him a little nervous. Please fill out our adoption application by opening their link. https://surfcatcafe.org/adoption-application/
This little girl came to Surfcat after being rescued from a feral colony. Due to VCAS overcrowding, we took this beautiful baby in with her brother Ula Kai!! Born May 2016, Ahina came to Surfcat with an old injury. It appears that someone may have stepped on her when she was very young. With all of that behind her now Ahina loves to play and jump with the other Surfcat teens. She is still a little shy around new people so it will take a little time for her to trust you...nothing that yummy food and some lovin' won't fix! As with all of our Surfcats, Ahina will need to be an indoor cat. Ahina will need to have a kitty buddy as she is very social and is best suited in a home with no small children or very energetic dogs. She had bonded with Ku so we are trying to adopt them to the same forever home. Please fill out our adoption application by opening their link. https://surfcatcafe.org/adoption-application/
Surfcat has a special affinity for special needs kitties like this little guy. He has a mild form of eyelid agenesis and has successfully undergone eye surgery like some of our other Surfcats with the same eye condition. He was turned into the shelter at just a few weeks old and we were asked to foster him. We think he was born in early June. He resembled a mighty lion cub, thus his name Ku, which is Hawaiian for king. He is content to entertain himself bonking balls and springy things about and also likes playing with the other feline residents. He has a special bond with another special needs kitty, Ahina, so we would love to see them adopted together. He is shy and a bit standoffish as he has been through a lot. He will need a special family and some quiet space to bring him around to the cuddle bug we know he can be. He is neutered, de-wormed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. Are you ready to hear this little warrior ROAR!Please fill out our adoption application by opening their link. https://surfcatcafe.org/adoption-application/
A beautiful Lynx Point Siamese man with street experience on his side.. Iz has decided he is loving the house cat lifestyle and spends most of his days lying around or hunting down a sunny spot to bask in. He came to Surfcat from VCAS where he was turned in as a stray cat and settled right in. A really cool dude Iz will fit into any indoor situation. Iz is FIV+. He likes cats and people of all sizes! A very docile gentleman, Iz will be fine with other non FIV+ cats. We think he was born around August 2008 but is very young at heart!! IZ is neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and micro-chipped. He's a big boy ready to steal your heart!! Adoption application at www.surfcatcafe.org
Vincent came to Surfcat after spending 7 months in a small cage at the shelter. Vincent was all done with shelter life when he was sent to quarentine for scratching a staff member. He was no longer in the path of the public eye making it difficult for a potential guardian to see him or interact with him. Enter Surfcat Cafe & Adoptions!! We feel that all cats deserve a second chance at life. Once at the sanctuary Vincent showed his over the top grateful self as he rubbed and loved on the Surfcat volunteers without caution. After a bit of exploring he settled down on the front catio for a trusting nap. Vincent continues to show his gratitude with head bops and gentle love bites daily. He has become the heart of Surfcat and would love to steal your heart!! After settling down Vincent gets along with humans of all sizes, dogs from a distance and cats and kittens! Please fill out our adoption application by opening their link. https://surfcatcafe.org/adoption-application/
Hi I'm Corbin!! They call me liquid kitty for a couple of reasons. First...I love to swim!! My foster home has a shallow pond in the house. It's so much fun to drop my toys in there and then fish them out!!! Second...I've been compared to a Rag doll kitty.. When you pick me up I just go limp!! My favorite thing is to be held upside down and then just ooze out of your arms and reach the floor!! I love giving kisses and cuddles but I especially love my BFF Shadow. He's a big black dog and we love to play and sleep together. One more thing...I've been here with my brother Binx since I was a baby so if he could come with me that would be pawsome!! Come visit me at my foster home..I can't wait to meet you! Please fill out our adoption application by opening their link. https://surfcatcafe.org/adoption-application/
I'm Binx!! I am so beautiful. Yes...I know. My coat shines blue black. I love to play with cats, dogs and hoomans of all ages! Funny thing you should know about me...I talk in my sleep. My foster mom says its super cute. I'm not really good at adoptions so if you can come meet me at my home that would be great. Oh.....one more thing. I have a brother Corbin that I have been with since I was born. If i could bring him with me that would be great. I just can't be the only four legged family member in the house. I love to play, eat, sleep, purr, eat, cuddle, give kisses and did I say eat? Please fill out our adoption application by opening their link. https://surfcatcafe.org/adoption-application/
This is Miss Tory. She's a beautiful tortie and white girl who is sweet and loving yet independent. Indoor only for this girl as her last human let her out and she was attacked. She would make a great companion to someone with one other cat and is fine with being the only princess in the house. She would prefer a quiet home and does best with children over 10.Please fill out our adoption application by opening their link. https://surfcatcafe.org/adoption-application/
Mr. Kitty is a sweet kitty. He has had a rough road thus so far. He was declawed on all four paws as a kitten. After exhibiting play aggression behavior he was surrendered to the local shelter. Fortunately he was adopted by a loving woman who cared for and loved Mr. Kitty until she passed away. Once again he was left at the shelter when the children could not keep him. At ten his tolerance was a bit shorter and he spent not one stint but two in quarantine at the shelter. He is in a loving foster now but will need a forever home. Please fill out our adoption application by opening their link. https://surfcatcafe.org/adoption-application/
I'm Blossom... I came to the shelter with my two kitty housemates after my human passed away. They both got adopted right away and when they left i was terribly frightened. Someone grabbed me to take me out of my carrier and i was so scared that i scratched them. Thats how I ended up in the hole at the shelter. Then one day a strange lady came to see me. I was so scared that I just froze...but I let her hold me and love on me and it wasn't so bad! I guess I was just tired of everyone misunderstanding me...but to my delight when the scary part was done I had a nice room of my own. No cage...just a comfy big girl bed and a nice big window where birds came to greet me!! Was I dreaming....?? I hit the big time...I'm a Surfcat now... gonna rest for a bit then I hope you come meet me. I'll be waitingPlease fill out our adoption application by opening their link. https://surfcatcafe.org/adoption-application/
